Birthday Present

Yesterday was a good day. In the morning I was told I still have a job. After those who didn’t were notified, we got the rest of the day off. No work would be done anyway, so we might as well take off.

Hearing that I had the rest of the day off, my wife suggested we go out to lunch. She searched through her coupons and lo! she found some for Red Lobster.

After lunch, she asked if there was anywhere else I would like to go. I thought for a few seconds and said, “Lets go to the bullet hole.” The bullet hole is an indoor range in Overland Park, KS. They have a lot of once-fired brass. All they have to do is sweep the floor and sort the brass. I bought three 100-rd bags of 9mm brass for $9 a bag. That’s the cheapest price I’ve found—even on line. I even found some Speer 147gr JHP 9mm bullets for $21.

Not a bad haul for a birthday!

  1. Congratulations on keeping your job! Seriously. We had our 3rd layoff since Thanksgiving this week. I walked away with about a 15% pay cut and I consider myself very lucky.
