Treason!

That’s what the democrats are screaming! How DARE those treasonous ‘Pubs contradict his Ultimate Greatness, Barack Obama! Of course they conveniently forget their interference with George W. Bush’s efforts during the Iraq War. They were actively undermining our efforts to win the war and supporting our enemies!

It’s reminiscent of Gilbert and Sullivan Comic Operas, either The Mikado or The Pirates of Penzance. Both are farces about people with ego problems.

The Senate, almost 50 ‘Pubs, have sent a letter to Iran to remind then whatever deals they make with Obama on nukes will vanish as soon as he leaves office. It’s a highly unusual act by Senate ‘Pubs. They even by-passed Mitch McConnell when doing so. It appears he has sided with Obama.

GOP tries to undercut nuclear deal with warning to Iran

Mar 9, 6:00 PM (ET), By BRADLEY KLAPPER and DEB RIECHMA

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican lawmakers warned the leaders of Iran on Monday that any nuclear deal they cut with President Barack Obama could expire the day he leaves office. The White House denounced the GOP’s latest effort to undercut the international negotiations as a “rush to war.”

Monday’s open letter from 47 GOP senators marked an unusually public and aggressive attempt to undermine Obama and five world powers as negotiators try to strike an initial deal by the end of March to limit Iran’s nuclear programs.

Republicans say a deal would be insufficient and unenforceable, and they have made a series of proposals to undercut or block it — from requiring Senate say-so on any agreement to ordering new penalty sanctions against Iran or even making a pre-emptive declaration of war.

Obama, noting that some in Iran also want no part of any deal, said “I think it’s somewhat ironic that some members of Congress want to make common cause with the hardliners in Iran. It’s an unusual coalition.”

The column continues here.

The entire country should be against Obama’s proposal. Who, in their right minds would allow Islamists to have nukes!? That leads to another question. Is Obama in his right mind? Some people don’t think so.

Be that as it may, the ‘Pubs have finally taken a stand on the Iranian nuke deal, even if they had to by-pass McConnell to do so. John Boehner is facing a revolt in the House. It’s time for the Senate ‘Pubs to revolt against McConnell.

Speaking of government lies, here’s another one nobody believes.

ATF apologizes for ‘error’ on ammo-ban regulations

– The Washington Times – Monday, March 9, 2015

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is apologizing for a “publishing error” in its regulations that suggested the agency had already banned AR-15 “green tip” ammo well before officials publicly announced a proposal to outlaw the armor-piercing bullets last month.

“ATF has not rescinded any armor piercing ammunition exemption, and the fact they are not listed in the 2014 online edition of the regulations was an error which has no legal impact,” the agency said in a statement. “ATF apologizes for any confusion caused by this publishing error.”

In January, the ATF published an online regulations guide that doesn’t contain a listing of the ammo exempted from a ban on armor piercing ammunition. By omitting the .223-caliber M855 ammo from the list, the agency led some to believe the government had already effectively banned it before the ATF’s announcement on Feb. 13 that it was seeking public comment on a proposal to do just that.

The regulations come out about every 10 years and must be reviewed by the White House Office of Management and Budget. The discrepancy was first reported by Townhall.com.

“They claim it wasn’t done on purpose. It’s a pretty egregious mistake to put the document out after a review by OMB and internal ATF staff, when they knew this issue about armor-piercing ammunition was of such importance to industry,” said Larry Keane, senior vice president of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, a trade association for the firearms industry based in Newtown, Connecticut. “They’ve ‘corrected’ it, and we’re glad they did.”

The ATF’s statement specified that the exemptions for 5.56 mm (.223) SS 109 and M855 ammo, and for the U.S .30-06 M2AP bullet, “remain in effect.”

The Obama administration says that the proposed ban will save the lives of law-enforcement officers, because the armor-piercing ammo can be chambered in newer AR-style “handguns” that have been on the market for a few years. Typically, the ammunition is used in AR-15 rifles for target practice or hunting.

Some Second Amendment supporters believe the proposed regulation is a backdoor attempt by the administration to phase out the use of AR-15 rifles. President Obama supported legislation in 2013 to ban the rifles.

At a town-hall meeting in South Carolina on Friday, Mr. Obama reflected on his failed efforts to enact gun legislation such as mandatory background checks on gun purchases.

“The courts and state legislatures … have greatly restricted the ability to put in place common-sense gun safety laws like background checks,” Mr. Obama said. “So what we’ve done is we have tried as much as we can administratively to implement background checks and to make sure that we’re working with those states and cities and jurisdictions that are interested and willing to partner with us to crack down on the legal use of firearms, particularly handguns.”

The president said there’s too much gun violence in America because legislators won’t stand up to the pro-gun lobby.

The Second Amendment is what protects us from a government run amok. The government knows this as well and will use every opportunity to undermine or defeat our ability to defend ourselves. If the government is successful in banning ammunition, we take another step towards civil war, a war that will make the past one in Lebanon look like a picnic in the park.

What’s really going on?

I am not a conspiracy theorist. I believe many, who exhibit those symptoms, have their tin-foil beanies on too tight. On occasion, however, when multiple sources cite multiple instances of similar events, you really have to wonder what’s going on.

What am I talking about? The militarization of the Department of Homeland Security.

Their are credible reports, reports that present irrefutable facts that the DHS, and other federal agencies, too, is militarizing. They are buying obscene amount of ammunition, 1.6 billion rounds, small-arms, and IED resistant, armored vehicles—MRAPs.

Beginning several years ago, the DHS began stockpiling ammunition, most, but not all, in .40S&W, a favored pistol caliber of law enforcement and federal agencies. They also bought large amounts of 5.56mm rifle cartridges, and 12ga 00 shotgun shells.

Add to that the 2,700 armored MRAPs transferred from the Army to DHS, and a newly announced purchase of 360,000 more rounds of ammunition, and any rational person begins to get suspicious.

Add one more item to all of the above. DHS is freeing illegal aliens, criminal illegal aliens because of “sequester.” What a farce! Let’s estimate the cost of all that ammunition. Conservatively, let’s say each round costs $1.00. (Current prices for .40S&W hollow-point ammunition is in excess of $25 for a box of 20.) DHS could have spend that $1.6 billion on prosecuting the illegals DHS has in custody. Instead, Janet Reno turned them loose.

Think what could happen when all those criminals hit the streets—another manufactured crises? Some of those conspiracy theorists claim the FedGov is preparing for a coup. I can’t subscribe to that. Not quite, but it certainly is suspicious.

I’ll leave you with Michael Ramirez’s latest cartoon…

Friday Follies for March 22, 2013

Ammunition has become scarce while news arrives of the DHS buying more ammo and armored vehicles—2,500 armored troop carriers. There is not direct proof that the DHS is cause of the scarity of ammo but many believe that is one reason, if not the main reason.

Personally, I don’t know. The shortage has caused problems for police and sheriff’s offices, especially those outside metro areas.

Police Departments Beg And Barter For Ammo While DHS Buys Up 1.6 Billion Rounds In Past Year

March 22, 2013,

The nationwide shortage of ammunition has left many police departments scrambling to get their hands on the necessary rounds – with some even bartering among each other.

Meanwhile, Rep. Timothy Huelskamp (R-Kansas) says the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has failed to respond to multiple members of Congress asking why DHS bought more than 1.6 billion rounds in the past year.

Police Chief Cameron Arthur of Jenks, Oklahoma says, “Ammunition and assault weapons in general have skyrocketed…In addition to the fact, not only is it a lot more expensive, but the time to get it could be six months to a year, or in some cases even longer.”

Arthur says he is waiting on an order placed last October and that many departments have begun to trade and barter with each other because of the high demand.

“Most police departments are having a very difficult time even getting the necessary ammunition for handguns, shotguns and especially rifles,” Arthur said.

“With the delay in ammunition, some departments are limiting the number of rounds they carry in their handgun because of the shortage of ammunition. We get to the point where it is difficult to have enough ammo to train and also equip the officers.”

There is more information at the website. You can read all of it here. One of the really surprising shortages, contrary to all the previous shortages since Obama was elected, is .22s. My last trip to Walmart found they had no .22lr nor .22mag ammunition. Whenever they receive any, it’s gone within an hour. Across the country, ammo replenishment for store shelves is low and slow.

No one, conspiracy theorists aside, really knows why.

Secret Police—paid informants who spy on their neighbors, has come to New York state, thanks to their tyrant, Governor Andrew Cuomo. He has funded a corps of secret police to enforce his latest gun control scheme. What is more troubling is that he started his plan a year before he rammed his gun control laws through the New York legislature.

Hugo the Clown is dead

All the leftist are mourning—Sean Penn, Jimmy Cahtah, Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Oliver Stone. Boo. Hoo. Expatriate Venezuelans, however, are celebrating. It is interesting to note that Chavez amassed an estate valued over $2 Billion.

I don’t mourn Hugo Chavez. He was nothing more than an thug, a tinpot dictator who pillaged Venezuela’s economy.

Hitler had his SS, SD and Gestapo. Stalin had his NKVD and KGB. Obama has his DHS.

Let’s be frank. Bush was an idiot to create that department. Something had to be done to resolve the turf wars between the multiple intelligence and investigative agencies, particularly between the CIA and the FBI but the Department of Homeland Security was not the solution.

There was a balance of power between the various competing agencies. With the DHS, that safeguard and balance of power, of “watchers watching watchers” is gone. Under Obama and the dems, the DHS and its subordinate, the TSA, has morphed—not evolved, but purposely redirected from protecting the US from outside threats to internals threats, real or fantasized. Why don’t we just call it what it is—Internal Security.

Over the last few years, we have seen growing militarization of government. Local police departments everywhere now have or have access to paramilitary assault squads. Oh, they have fancy names like SWAT but the reality is that they are assault troops with the mindset of assault troops, not police.

We are seeing more of that mindset in the federal government from the IRS issuing orders for weapons to the Department of Education who used their assault troops to invade a home for—overdue education loans! Now we see the DHS stockpiling ammunition and acquiring “surplus” armored Army vehicles—2700 armored troop carriers.

The militarization and buildup of the DHS and other governmental agencies has drawn the notice of many in the conservative media…rational journalists who are not members of the tin-foil hat brigade. The leftist poo-poo the idea. Of course.

The Investor’s Business Daily editorial board asks this question:

Why Is Obama’s Growing DHS Army Buying Armored Vehicles?

 Posted 03/05/2013 06:26 PM ET

Security: In addition to stockpiling over a billion bullets and thousands of semiautomatic weapons the feds would deny U.S. citizens, the vehicle of choice for fighting the counterinsurgency war in Iraq is appearing on U.S. streets.

The sequestration question du jour is why the Department of Homeland Security, busy releasing hundreds, if not thousands, of deportable and detained illegal aliens due to budget constraints, is buying several thousand Mine Resistant Armored Protection (MRAP) vehicles?

And just who are they intended to be used against?

This acquisition comes on top of the recent news of the stockpiling by DHS of more than 1.6 billion (with a ‘b’) bullets of various calibers, enough by one calculation to fight the equivalent of a 24-year Iraq War, and the ordering of some 7,000 5.56x45mm NATO “personal defense weapons” (PDW) — also known as “assault weapons” when owned by civilians.

Additionally, DHS is asking for 30 round magazines that “have a capacity to hold thirty (30) 5.56x45mm NATO rounds.”

The Department of Homeland Security (through the U.S. Army Forces Command) recently retrofitted 2,717 of these MRAP vehicles for service on the streets of the U.S. They were formerly used for counterinsurgency in Iraq.

These vehicles are specifically designed to resist mines and ambush attacks. They use bulletproof windows and are designed to withstand small-arms fire, including smaller-caliber rifles such as a .223 Remington. Does DHS expect a counterinsurgency here?

After IEDs began to take a toll on U.S. military forces in Iraq, the Pentagon ordered a large supply of MRAPs.

“They’ve taken hits, many, many hits that would have killed soldiers and marines in uparmored Humvees,” Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in a recent interview.

A DHS officer, Robert Whitaker, stationed in El Paso, Texas, recently proudly described the agency’s new armored toy as “Mine-resistant … we use to deliver our team to high-risk warrant services … (with) gun ports so we can actually shoot from within the vehicle; you may think it’s pretty loud but actually it’s not too bad … we have gun ports there in the back and two on the sides as well. They are designed for .50-caliber weapons.”

This is needed to serve warrants? Perhaps it might have been useful at Waco.

So the question is what does DHS need 1.6 billion bullets, 7,000 Ar-15s and 2,700 armored vehicles for?

What are they anticipating or planning for, and why are few in the media and Congress asking about it, particularly in the light of daily apocalyptic bleats from the administration about sequestration cuts?

We have asked if this has anything to do with then-candidate Obama’s proposal for a national security force as powerful as the U.S. Army.

In a July 2, 2008, speech in Colorado Springs, Colo., candidate Obama said: “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

As Judge Andrew Napolitano, a Fox News contributor, recently opined in the Washington Times, “The historical reality of the Second Amendment’s protection of the right to keep and bear arms is not that it protects the right to shoot deer. It protects the right to shoot tyrants, and it protects the right to shoot at them effectively, with the same instruments they would use upon us.”

No, we are not scanning the sky for black helicopters.

But we are concerned about an administration pushing for ever stricter gun control and de facto gun registration in the form of allegedly universal background checks to which criminals and gangbangers won’t comply is arming itself to the teeth.

If weapons of war don’t belong on the street, Mr. President, explain these purchases.

Others are asking that same question and the run by citizens to acquire weapons and ammunition continues.

Refocus

Was there anything positive happening this week? Many would say no but I’m seeing a glimmer that could be fruitful for our future. If nothing else, Obama has helped refocus the “Red State” base with his attack on the 2nd Amendment.

First was the farce of Biden’s committee and the resulting attack on the NRA. That should not have surprised us. Nothing else could have occurred. Then NY Governor Cuomo seized an opportunity to ram through legislation so quickly that most of the NY Legislators never had a chance to read the bill. The result? It effectively banned the “high-capacity” rifle and pistol magazines used by the state’s police and law enforcement agencies.

Then when Obama proposed more gun bans, what happened? Opposition. Not from the ‘Pub establishment but from the nation’s grassroots—county Sheriffs.

I don’t know the number of Sheriffs who wrote to the White House expressing opposition and their implied refusal to allow enforcement of any attempts to seize citizens’ arms. Cass County (MO) Sheriff Dwight Diehl promised, “I have made public statements that if the Second Amendment were to be compromised to the point that our individual rights to own or possess a firearm were taken away, I would deputize every law abiding gun owner in my county.”

Texas Governor Rick Perry has joined the opposition with this statement.

Perry’s response [to Obama’s gun-control proposals] echoed portions of National Rifle Association executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre’s argument –– he partly blamed the horrific mass shootings on a culture that partakes in violent entertainment.

“There is evil prowling in the world –– it shows up in our movies, video games and online fascinations, and finds its way into vulnerable hearts and minds,” Perry wrote.

Perry’s strongly worded response [to Obama’s gun control proposals] comes just a day after Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott launched an ad campaign inviting New Yorkers to move to Texas to avoid gun regulations enacted there earlier this week.

The ads, which target users in the New York and Albany area, link to a Facebook application that tout, among other things, the state’s lack of income tax –– “we’ll fight like hell to protect your rights” and “you’ll also get to keep more of what you earn and use some of that extra money to buy more ammo,” it says. — WFAA

Even Harry Reid, listening to his gun-owning constituents for a change, told Obama he didn’t have enough democrat support (meaning Reid?) to get passage of any new gun-control legislation through the Senate. Another positive effect was to increase the membership of the NRA by 250,000 in a sudden surge of support for the NRA.

If these pro-gun trends continue, we should see a re-supply of high capacity magazines whose stock is currently exhausted, and increased availability of AR and other semiautomatic rifles, such as the AK variants on the market. Those magazine and rifle on-hand stocks were exhausted in a rush of panic buying.

But that should not be all. We should take this attempt to break the Constitution as a wake up call. We need more manufacturers of high capacity magazines, more magazine components…tubes, springs, base-plates and followers. We also need more ammunition manufacturers and manufacturers of ammunition components such as primers, brass, bullets and powder. Finally, we need more small weapons manufacturers. We need to disperse the manufacture, supply, distribution of weapons and ammunition to insure continued supply and availability in the event of future unconstitutional acts.

Not only must we resist any future anti-constitutional acts, we must also insure we have and continue to have the means to resist. We must insure we’re never again in a position where the Feds have the means to limit or control our access to weapons and ammunition. This attempt by Obama and the liberals should be a real wake-up call if we’re wise enough to heed it.

Bu-Bye, Boehner

It appears that the revolt in ‘Pub ranks in the House is growing.  This article appeared on Breitbart.com and confirms rumblings I’ve heard from other sources.

House Republicans Circulate Plan to Oust Boehner from Speakership

by Matthew Boyle 21 Dec 2012

Several conservative House Republican members are contemplating a plan to unseat Speaker John Boehner from his position on January 3, Breitbart News has exclusively learned. Staffers have compiled a detailed action plan that, if executed, could make this a reality.

The Republicans, both conservatives and more establishment members alike, are emboldened after the failure of Boehner’s fiscal cliff “Plan B” on Thursday evening. Dissatisfaction with Boehner is growing in the House Republican conference, but until now there hasn’t been a clear path forward.

Those members and staffers requested anonymity from Breitbart News at this time to prevent retaliation from Boehner similar to what happened to those four members who were purged from their powerful committee assignments a few weeks ago. Their expressed concern is that if Boehner knew who they were, his adverse reaction toward them would be much more brutal than losing committee assignments, such as a primary challenge in 2014 by a leadership-sponsored candidate.

The article continues on but it’s gratifying to read that those who can are taking action to remove that abomination from the Speakership. It’s long past time Boehner is removed from the Speaker’s office. He’s unfit to hold the office of Representative, too.

Diane Feinstein is at it again. She wants another “assualt” weapons and high-capacity magazine ban as well as national registration of all firearms.

Stopping the spread of deadly assault weapons

In January, Senator Feinstein will introduce a bill to stop the sale, transfer, importation and manufacturing of military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition feeding devises.

Following is a summary of the 2013 legislation:

  • Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:

    • 120 specifically-named firearms
    • Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic
    • Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds
  • Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.

    • Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test
    • Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test
    • Banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons” to address attempts to “work around” prior bans
  • Protects legitimate hunters and the rights of existing gun owners by:

    • Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment
    • Exempting over 900 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes and
    • Exempting antique, manually-operated, and permanently disabled weapons
  • Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:

    • Background check of owner and any transferee;

    • Type and serial number of the firearm;

    • Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;

    • Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and

    • Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration.

Fortunately, this bill will go nowhere in the House, unless John Boehner betrays us again.

Gallup: Majority opposes ban on so-called ‘assault weapons’

Gallup poll, December 26, 2012, By:

A majority of Americans oppose a ban on so-called “assault weapons,” but do support stricter gun laws, according to the results of a new USA Today/Gallup poll reported Wednesday.

According to USA Today, 51 percent of the respondents are against such a ban while 44 percent say they favor a ban. Fifty-eight percent support stricter gun laws, the newspaper reported, but also noted that 46 percent support enforcement of existing gun laws…

Essentially, banning so-called “assault weapons” is a dead-heat issue that has not gained any traction.

Feinstein’s attack on the 2nd Amendment has had some unintended consequences—a run on AR-style rifles, large capacity magazines and ammo. One nationally-known supplier, Brownells,  sold 3 1/2 years worth of magazines in 72 hours.

Top Ammo Supplier Sells 3 1/2 Years Worth Of Assault Rifle Magazines In 72 Hours

By Kim Bhasin | Business Insider – Wed, Dec 26, 2012 10:33 AM EST

Firearm accessories supplier Brownells says that it’s experiencing “unprecedented” sales of magazines.

Brownells has sold 3 1/2 years worth of PMAG magazines in just 72 hours, according to a statement posted from the company’s official account on gun owner forum AR-15.com.

It also says that it has sold “an even greater amount” of its own Brownells magazines.

PMAGs, manufactured by Magpul, are used with AR-15/M4/M16 compatible weapons.

“Its rugged design has made it as one of the top performers in the small-arms accessory arena,  according to combat veterans who credit the PMAG with drastically improving the reliability of the M4,” writes Matthew Cox at Military.com.

Here’s the full statement from Brownell, attributed to the president of the family-owned company Pete Brownell:

Hey Guys,

I wanted to take a minute to shed some insight on the magazine situation if i can. First of all I wanted to offer an apology for the situation that Pacs and anyone else encountered with magazines being “In-Stock” and Backordered moments later. Cedjunior had it correct, the demand for magazines actually exceeded the ability for the system to keep up with the volume that was being ordered. They way that our website works is that inventory is fed from our ERP system directly into the website in “real-time”. Unfortunately, “real-time” is the amount of time that it takes for the transactions to work both ways. During normal circumstances, it is nearly instant. However, we’ve been receiving orders at such a pace that these transactions have gotten slower. We absolutely apologize again, we definitely don’t want that ever to be your experience.

To shed some more light on the magazine situation at present, it really has been unprecedented in the last 5 days. (Edit – Sorry guys, meant 72 hour period) we sold the “average demand” equivalent of about 3 1/2 years worth of PMAGS, and an even greater amount of our Brownells magazines. We’re working like crazy to get these orders to you as quickly as possible.

We’re working directly with Magpul daily to forecast out the next couple of months deliveries. Magpul is focusing their efforts on the BLACK magazines, so we’re limiting backorders to only Black for now.

On the Brownells 30 and 20 round magazines, we’re still flowing those into the system daily, and are producing those at 100% capacity as well. We ordered more material yesterday that will allow us to up production again in the coming weeks.

Our apologies for the delays! We’ll keep working as hard as possible to get these going and will keep you updated always. Let us know if we can do anything at all. – Pete Brownell

Ironically, despite the headline, Brownell’s is known best for selling gun parts, components and supplies, much less so for ammunition.

Hello, World!

The world did not come to an end this morning. To quote Gomer Pyle, “Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!”

I should not be surprised some people were so gullible to swallow this end of the world prophecy. It just proves that idiots aren’t limited to and don’t work only in Washington, DC.

Boehnor’s “Plan B” flopped. It was withdrawn unexpectantly last night when House ‘Pub leaders realized they didn’t have enough votes for passage. According to some sources, Boehner is in danger of losing his Speakership. To counter these reports, Boehner and his surrogates are touring the media outlets this morning denying the danger. It makes you wonder if there was no danger, why is Boehner, et. al., going to so much trouble denying it?

Amid reports and rumors of the bad old days of the assault weapons ban, Wal-Mart sold out of their stock of AR type rifles and their magazines in a several mid-western states including Kansas. Another well-known supplier of firearm components exhausted their supply of magazines as well.

Brownells, the world’s largest supplier of firearms, has reportedly sold three-and-a-half years worth of magazines in just seventy-two hours. — CNS News.

It’s enough to make me consider getting a second AR. Perhaps a M4 style this time.

Irony of Gun ControlGovernor Cuomo of New York says the state is “considering” gun confiscation and more gun control. The libs may think they could do that in New York, although I think they’ll have strong resistance in the northern and western portions of the state. It wouldn’t fly anywhere else outside of the Rust Belt and the Left Coast. There’s a reason why Molon Labe is well known throughout the country.

The libs continue to forget that SCOTUS has declared the 2nd Amendment is a personal right. That ruling also blocks any confiscation scheme the libs may devise. You can’t have a right if the state removes the tools of that right from the people.

On the other hand, the dems and liberal groups don’t let a small thing like the Constitution stand in the way of their plans to seize more and more power at the expense of our liberty.
