Are you ready for Global Cooling?

The Climate Conference going on in Chicago has come to this conclusion. Not only did global warming not exist, the world is really experiencing a period of global cooling that is going to continue for decades.

Climate Science: Noted scientists at a Chicago climate conference declare that global warming is not only dead, but that the planet faces a big chill for decades to come. What about those frozen wind turbines?

It’s not exactly Copenhagen or Kyoto, but the 700 scientists attending the fourth International Conference on Climate Change, sponsored by the Heartland Institute, had some chilling news of their own in the most liberal sense.

“Global warming is over — at least for a few decades,” Don Easterbrook, emeritus professor of geology at Western Washington University, told the gathering. “However, the bad news is that global cooling is even more harmful to humans than global warming, and a cause for greater concern.”

Easterbrook and 74 other presenters at the conference said what everyone already knows, having shoveled record amounts of global warming off our sidewalks and driveways last winter.

We don’t need computer models to tell us, baby, it’s getting cold outside. Of course, the doomsayers will claim that global warming causes global warming. Right.

“Rather than global warming at a rate of about 1 (degree) Fahrenheit per decade, records of past natural cycles indicate there may be global cooling for the first few decades of the 21st century to about 2030,” Easterbrook said.

He spoke of natural cycles that have been occurring since the discovery of fire and mankind’s first carbon emissions, long before the invention of the wheel and the SUV.

Easterbrook and the other scientists reported on sudden and natural climate fluctuations documented in the geologic record, all before 1945. Two big climate changes occurred in the past 15,000 years, and another 60 smaller changes in the last 5,000 years.

Another presenter, James M. Taylor, an environmental policy expert and a fellow at the Heartland Institute, said that global cooling is happening now.

He pointed to data provided by the Rutgers University Global Snow Lab showing snow records from the last 10 years exceeding the records set in the 1960s and 1970s.

Based on new analysis of ice cores from Greenland to Antarctica, Easterbrook said global temperatures rose and fell from 9 to 15 degrees in a single century or less, a natural phenomenon he called “astonishing.”

We see a bit of irony in an early February report that 11, 115-foot-tall wind turbines installed to provide power to 11 Minnesota towns were not functioning because they couldn’t handle the record cold temperatures of a harsh winter.

Global cooling, it seems, stalled their fight against global warming.

They should be thawed out by now but Dan Geiger, electrical director for Chaska, Minn., said at the time the city had been receiving inquiries as to why its 160-kilowatt $300,000 turbine wasn’t working.

He told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune it had not worked since mid-November. That’s what we call a green energy no-spin zone.

Yes, it’s warmer today than it was a century ago, but it was even warmer when Eric the Red settled on Greenland in 986.

The climate there supported the Viking way of life based upon cattle, hay, grain and herring for about 300 years, predating the Industrial Revolution.

By 1100, a colony of about 3,000 was thriving there. But then came the Little Ice Age, and by 1400, average temperatures had declined by about 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit, and the advancing glaciers doomed the Viking colony in Greenland.

They were doomed by global cooling.

In testimony before Congress on May 6, Britain’s Lord Monckton noted that “neither global mean surface temperature nor its rates of change in recent decades have been exceptional, unusual, inexplicable, or unprecedented.”

He also advised: “There are many urgent priorities that need the attention of Congress, and it is not for me as an invited guest in your country to say what they are. Yet I can say this much: On any view, ‘global warming’ is not one of them.”

We just hope the polar bears don’t catch their death of cold.

BTW, Algore’s still an idiot.

Hey! Algore, this one’s for you!

Globull Worming! Phfffft!

How about this? All your CO2 emission schemes went up in…ash.

For all of you out there in America and across the globe who have fought so hard to tackle the hideous enemy of our planet, namely carbon emissions, that bogus god you worship named “Climate Change” or “Global Warming”, there is some really bad news that will be very painful for you to process. But it is my duty to pass it on to you anyway.

Are you sitting down?

Okay, here’s the bombshell. The current volcanic eruption going on in Iceland, since it first started spewing volcanic ash a week ago, has, to this point, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet. Not only that, this single act of God has added emissions to the earth estimated to be 42 times more than can be corrected by the extreme human regulations proposed for annual reductions.

Once again, there is news on the AlGore fraud front. This little piece from Bloomberg News is another refutation of the “shrinking Polar Ice Cap” myth.

Arctic Sea Ice Melting Season Posts Latest Start on Record

April 6 (Bloomberg) — The extent of sea ice over the Arctic Ocean grew until the last day of March, the latest the annual melting season has begun in 31 years of satellite records, the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center said.

Cold weather and winds from the north over the Bering Sea and Barents Sea meant that the area of ocean covered by ice expanded through last month, the Boulder, Colorado-based center said today in a statement on its Web site. That’s two days later than in 1999, the previous latest start to a melting season since satellite monitoring began in 1979.

The article continues with the Bloomberg required spin attempting to make this new data irrelevant while pushing the Global Warming fraud. The truth is there is no man-made global warming, there never has been. Yes, there has been periods with the world climate warmed. One such period was around 2000 years ago. There has also been period of cooling. The Ice Ages are examples. The last period of cooling ended only 200 years ago. (Google Mini-Ice Age, 17th Century weather, Maunder Minimum.) Recent climate models, rejected by all the AGW promoters, indicate we may be entering another solar cycle that triggered the last mini-Ice Age.

Never forget the entire purpose of AGW is to increase state control over our lives, increase taxes and spread the liberal’s Marxist agenda. They could not care less about actual climate effects unless it supports their political goals.

By the way, have you noticed that Algore remains in hiding? He’s just canceled his next public appearance to swindle more money from his true-believers.

Yes—just as I predicted

Last summer I made a post about the low sunspot cycle we’re in. At that time, I made this prediction.

“…we are in for an extended period of cooler temperatures much like that which occurred 400 years ago.

I suggest you make sure your winter clothing is up to date as well as your home. Come next winter, we’ll all be sayin’, “Baby, it’s COLD out there!”

That prediction was made in this post: Why has this been the coolest summer in decades?

I’m not sure if I’m glad to have been proved correct or not.

What Glacier Shrinkage?

Remember the big stink a few years ago by the Global Warming frauds claiming that glaciers were melting so fast that they’d all be gone by 2035? Well, the truth is out. It’s not happening and never was happening. The information used by the IPCC was taken from a popular science magazine printed seven years earlier concerning an interview with an Indian scientist who admits he was speculating. No evidence. No peer review. Just a speculation from a single person who had no data to support his speculation.

The Times Online reported this new bit of information this weekend. (why is it always on a weekend?) Here is a portion of that report. You can find the entire article here.

World misled over Himalayan glacier meltdown

The west Himalayan range includes 15,000 glaciers

A WARNING that climate change will melt most of the Himalayan glaciers by 2035 is likely to be retracted after a series of scientific blunders by the United Nations body that issued it.

Two years ago the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a benchmark report that was claimed to incorporate the latest and most detailed research into the impact of global warming. A central claim was the world’s glaciers were melting so fast that those in the Himalayas could vanish by 2035.

In the past few days the scientists behind the warning have admitted that it was based on a news story in the New Scientist, a popular science journal, published eight years before the IPCC’s 2007 report.

It has also emerged that the New Scientist report was itself based on a short telephone interview with Syed Hasnain, a little-known Indian scientist then based at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi.

Hasnain has since admitted that the claim was “speculation” and was not supported by any formal research. If confirmed it would be one of the most serious failures yet seen in climate research. The IPCC was set up precisely to ensure that world leaders had the best possible scientific advice on climate change.

Professor Murari Lal, who oversaw the chapter on glaciers in the IPCC report, said he would recommend that the claim about glaciers be dropped: “If Hasnain says officially that he never asserted this, or that it is a wrong presumption, than I will recommend that the assertion about Himalayan glaciers be removed from future IPCC assessments.”

The IPCC’s reliance on Hasnain’s 1999 interview has been highlighted by Fred Pearce, the journalist who carried out the original interview for the New Scientist. Pearce said he rang Hasnain in India in 1999 after spotting his claims in an Indian magazine. Pearce said: “Hasnain told me then that he was bringing a report containing those numbers to Britain. The report had not been peer reviewed or formally published in a scientific journal and it had no formal status so I reported his work on that basis.

“Since then I have obtained a copy and it does not say what Hasnain said. In other words it does not mention 2035 as a date by which any Himalayan glaciers will melt. However, he did make clear that his comments related only to part of the Himalayan glaciers. not the whole massif.”

The revelation is the latest crack to appear in the scientific concensus over climate change. It follows the so-called climate-gate scandal, where British scientists apparently tried to prevent other researchers from accessing key date. Last week another row broke out when the Met Office criticised suggestions that sea levels were likely to rise 1.9m by 2100, suggesting much lower increases were likely.

Incompetence, lies and speculation. Is this the current scientific methodolgy that is now accepted by the scientific community?

I’m struck by the thought how Galileo was persecuted for heresy because his statements that the Earth circled the Sun ran counter to the established view that all spacial bodies circled the Earth. Galileo had observable fact to support his case. His accusers of heresy had none.

Yes, we’re returning to the age of the Luddite. Led by the uncaring to pursue a personal political agenda. Typical for liberals. Next, they’ll be telling us we can tax ‘n spend ourselves into prosperity.

Oh, wait! They already have.
